The course covers preparing for an ocean cruise, safety equipment and safety procedures.
2 Days of lessons.
- Handle a crew and keep them happy
- Use the electronic navigation aids that are available
- Be aware of the publications available to assist in the planning of long voyages
- Know the prevailing winds and General Pressure distributions over the oceans
- Forecast the weather by observation
- How to prevent on board fires and how to contain and extinguish fires
- Take actions to assist rescue, conduct damage control after an emergency
